Homework Expectations
Third grade will require the following homework:
1. Read 15 minutes each night. Any material your child enjoys would be fine. You may even read to your child, if you prefer.
2. Practice MULTIPLICATION flashcards EACH NIGHT. Multiplication facts to 12s must be memorized by the end of third grade, so please practice, practice, practice!!
3. Students will usually have one math homework page each night M-Th. If there are any issues with the homework, please write a note on the page. We encourage students to do their homework independently, but please feel free to provide help if they are struggling. Homework is not graded, but it does count toward Social Skills/Responsibility.
**Our Google Classroom is ready and students will be using it during the school day. If your child is absent they can keep up with lessons from home using Google Classroom. Please contact me by email anytime if you need help accessing your child's account.
4. If a student is unable to complete a class assignment they may be asked to complete that work at home.
5. Each day students will write their homework in their assignment notebooks. I will also write book order dates, test dates, school events, and other important information here. All students are expected to have their assignment notebook signed by their parent/guardian each night and returned to school the next day. I check assignment books every day and is a great place for quick notes. Communication is KEY!
